Grape•Space Design Studio was created by designer, Sandy Prisbell. With a BFA in Surface Pattern Design and Textile Design from Syracuse University's School of Visual and Performing Arts, Sandy pursued her love for design in NYC. She began working as a graphic designer designing lines in accessories, socks and hosiery for Target, JcPenny and licensed brands. Transitioning into designing mens' and juniors' apparel, Sandy eventually relocated to Florida to design apparel and graphics for the licensed juniors' t-shirt company, David & Goliath. Sandy later settled in Los Angeles where she now freelances and continues to design juniors' fashion knits, graphics and directs other graphic artists. Sandy has worked as the designer and merchandiser for the t-shirt and fashion tops line Doe, which have been sold in Urban Outfitters, Delias, Hot Topic and Nordstrom. Her love for fabric and textiles became a major part of her interest in the apparel industry. Sandy also continues to freelance textile prints and build her catalog of repeat pattern designs.

Dig Under Rocks jewelry was born in early 2009. Sandy found her self working from her home studio in 2009 where she reinvented her love for jewelry design. After graduating college, Sandy began a small jewelry line out of her studio apartment in NYC. She sold to friends, family and, in a very grass-roots fashion, at concerts in the summers. The dream eventually faded as she fell more into her professional design positions. The opportunity to create jewelry again came up and Dig Under Rocks began to develop. The modern bohemian line is handcrafted using semi-precious stones, sterling silver and unique vintage finds. Color and vintage fashion are a big part of the inspirations for the line. Sandy opened an Etsy shop and began creating collections. She sells at local indie craft fairs, such as, Unique LA, Renegade, and the LaJolla Art & Wine Festival. Sandy also has collections available in boutiques.
Sandy is the writer and editer for the design blog, Dig Under Rocks (www.DigUnderRocks.blogspot.com). The blog was born out of a desire to express inspirations in color, design, art, crafts, photography, vintage, fashion and textiles. Connecting to the indie arts & crafts community also became an important topic. When the Dig Under Rocks jewelry line began to take form, the blog also followed. The blog became a place to learn more about small businesses in the arts & crafts world and featuring artists setting trends in the community. A new found love of writing and photography was created for Sandy through blogging.
